Internship Experience at IIDE

White Minimalist Product Review Instagram Post

How did I join the IIDE Virtual Internship Programme(VIP)?

I became aware of IIDE's VIP program through a faculty member at my college. She received an email from IIDE requesting her to share information about their VIP program with her students. Intrigued by the opportunity, several students from our college registered for it.

How was the selection process?

On September 4, 2022, I enrolled in the program. The application process proved rigorous and exhausting. They specified in their email that only 150 interns would be selected. On September 6, I received an official confirmation email from Ms. Shreya Ravaria outlining the roles, responsibilities, and program details. It spanned five weeks, with activities scheduled five days a week. While my college hours were from 08:30 a.m. to 01:30 p.m., the program began at 04:00 p.m. daily. Despite being an unpaid internship, I believed the value of obtaining a completion certificate and valuable experience outweighed the monetary sacrifice. Little did I anticipate the challenges ahead.

My Experience:

iide

The internship commenced at 04:00 p.m. on September 12, billed as a "fun orientation session." However, the primary focus was on turning on our video cameras. We were instructed to mimic dance moves demonstrated by our VIP manager. Some participants declined to participate, prompting threats that they would be denied certificates. Numerous assignments were distributed with unreasonable deadlines. Tasks included writing articles about the company's courses, generating leads for free masterclass sessions, and more, each laden with stringent guidelines regarding plagiarism, SEO optimization, font specifications, word limits, and other requirements. The prescribed word counts were unreasonably high, rendering them unattainable to anyone. All objectives set by the program were impractical and lacked consideration for participants. When questioned, blame was shifted onto the interns for not working hard enough, accompanied by threats of certificate withholding. This toxic environment persisted for days, reaching a climax where it became unbearable. Recognizing the detrimental impact on my mental well-being, I prioritized my health over the meaningless internship certificate and made the decision to resign.

Conclusion:

My overall experience was far from pleasant, and I cannot recommend it, particularly if you're not comfortable working in a high-pressure environment without incentives. If you do choose to pursue it, brace yourself for their absurd "work culture." Expect neither professionalism nor appreciation for your efforts.

The linguistic affinities and divergences between the phonetic systems of Korean and Dravidian languages

T  his article delves into the linguistic affinities and divergences between the phonetic systems of Korean and Dravidian languages, drawing insights from Chapter 1 of "A Comparative Grammar Of The Korean Language and the Dravidian Languages of India" by Homer B. Hulbert. In this seminal work, Hulbert explores the intricate parallels and distinctions that exist between these two language families, shedding light on their historical connections and typological characteristics. By examining phonemic contrasts, phonotactic patterns, and other phonological features, Hulbert offers a comprehensive analysis that enriches our understanding of linguistic diversity and evolution. Through this exploration, we aim to uncover the shared linguistic heritage and unique traits that define both Korean and Dravidian languages, contributing to a deeper appreciation of their rich cultural and linguistic significance.  fig.1: Similarities between Tamil ( தமிழ் ) and Korean ( 한글 ), the word ...

Null hypothesis Vs. Alternative hypothesis

Null hypothesis Vs. Alternative hypothesis A hypothesis is a claim or statement about a population parameter. Usually, the results of a sample are applied to generalize on an entire population(s). For example, in a class of 30 students, 12 students are sampled for their test scores. The result is that the average score is 83. This result would, however, vary with another sample. A hypothesis can be a null hypothesis or an alternative hypothesis. A null hypothesis is a statement what the majority holds to be true. The opposite or complement of a null hypothesis is an alternative hypothesis. Let us understand a problem: A light bulb manufacturer claims that the average life of their light bulb is 1000 hours. A worker believes it is not 1000 hours. He tests the claim by taking a sample of 500 bulbs. A null hypothesis (Ho) is an accepted truth and assumes that the alternative claim is false. An alternative hypothesis(H1) is what the researcher is trying to prove. In this problem, the...

BIOLOGICAL ANNIHILATION _6TH MASS EXTINCTION_2100 NO EARTH ✅

During the past 500 million years, there were five "mass extinctions". This was a  study by Gerardo Paul Ehrlich and Rodolfo.  The big five mass extinctions Late Devonian, 375 million years before - 75% of species lost. End Permian, 251 million years before - 96% of species lost. End Triassic, 200 million years before - 80% of species lost. End Cretaceous, 66 million years before - 76% of all species lost.  Scientists say we've entered a sixth mass extinction.  According to a  new study , humans are the primary cause. Earth is on the verge of sixth mass extinction.  Scientists warn that the "6th mass extinction" of wildlife is more severe than perceived. Scientists had analyzed both common and rare species of animals world. The Earth’s sixth mass extinction is more severe than thought. It would appear by just counting lost or surviving species. The population of all species is in decline. Their only natural habitat is decreasing worse. ...
